my crowning acheivement of last evening was managing to get to the kool haus to experience my bloody valentine.  a fan since the early 90’s when i was first introduced to them by some fantastic friends (one of whom i attended the show with), i was very excited to see them in the flesh and was not disappointed. in fact, this show will go into the top 3 for 2008. i have one way to describe the noise, feedback, manic guitar playing and shoegazey vocals - i feel like i was sonically exorcised.  yes, the show took all of me and then i kinda came back when it was over. i’m still feeling a little, hmm, woozy? the end of the show was a half an hour of ear plugged guitar feedback madness. i read that they had $400,000 worth of gear (if that give you any idea).  out of the three friends i was with one, left for the 1/2 hour of madness and the other two told me they though they were going to barf at one point because of the strobe/guitar affair on stage, but damn it was good.  my ears hate me, but the ear plugs saved them from complete doom. it was awesome rocking out and reliving those early teen angst ridden years. thanks for coming to toronto my bloody valentine!
